Star Australian sprinter Chautauqua will not run at Royal Ascot.
A decision had to be taken on Monday about whether to send the five-year-old grey into quarantine after he brilliantly came from last to first in the Chairman's Sprint Prize at Sha Tin just 24 hours earlier.
But after having returned from the Group One a "little bit flat", the decision was taken to skip the Royal meeting, at which he featured prominently in the betting for the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
Co-trainer Michael Hawkes told www.dailytelegraph.com.au: "It was about the horse and not about the money.
"It's in the best interests of the horse to go home.
"He pulled up a little bit flat and has got half a black eye.
"He has got nothing to prove, not that he ever has. As much as the carrot is big in England, the horse comes first."
