Ajaya set for Sandy Lane return at Haydock

Ajaya remains on course to make his seasonal return in next month's Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock ahead of an assault on the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.
The son of Invincible Spirit was last seen when finishing fourth behind the now-sidelined Shalaa in the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket in October on his first attempt in top-level company.
Prior to that defeat, the William Haggas-trained three-year-old had demonstrated his potential with victory in the Gimcrack Stakes at York.
Haggas said: "As Ajaya is already a Group Two winner, we are going to run him in the Sandy Lane Stakes up at Haydock, then in the Commonwealth Cup.
"He is fine and we haven't done anything with him on track so far as we had this plan in mind.
"The Commonwealth Cup a fantastic race. It is a tough race with or without Shalaa and it will still be very competitive."
A trip to Haydock is also under consideration for dual Group Two-winning sprinter Muthmir following his return from a brief spell in Dubai where he finished fifth in the Al Quoz Sprint.
Haggas said: "Muthmir is fine. He has come back well and looks great. He will go for the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.
"Whether he goes for the Temple Stakes first or the Prix du Gros-Chene, the race he won last year, is yet to be decided."
